About Us

Kakamega County Residents Association
henceforth referred briefly as K.C.R.A., is a non-political and non-partisan Western Kenya registered entity  under the Registrar of Societies - Certificate of Registration  No. 43042.

The aims and objectives of KCRA are to promote co-existence of persons from different back-ground; socially, politically and economically.  We seek to empower our communities through sustainable development.  Agro-business is our core path from impoverishment. Environmental friendly policies are to be followed in our quest to protect the one and only surviving tropical forest in the country—Kakamega forest

This we hope to achieve through mechanization of Agriculture and ensuring efficiency in management of industries that have cash-crops as either their raw material and or out-put.

 Our core values include:

  •  Social democracy
  •  Good governance
  •  Rule of law and constitutionalism
  •  Transparency and accountability
  •  Equality and equity
  •  All embracing public participation
  •  Respect of diversity
  •  Peace, unity and integrity

Our goals and aspirations are fighting:

  •  Poverty
  •  Ignorance/illiteracy
  •  Corruption and cronism
  •  Ethnicity/nepotism
  •  Inequality (loop-sided development)
  •  Discrimination (gender or of those with special needs)
